Commissioned in the 1950's for a restaurant / pub in West Vancouver, BC. known as the Old Park Royal hotel this restaurant a hot spot in its time was frequented by hollywood types during its time including Marilyn Munro and others as they passed through Vancouver's social scene at the time. The stained glass was saved from wrecking ball and has been crated and in storage for the last 14 years, at this point I am considering selling it as its large size makes it more suitable for perhaps a restaurant / pub, office, gallery or large sized home.
The mural depicts the rugged and diverse Westcoast in exuberant color as designed and made by Bullwinkle Glassworks of Sechelt BC. ( year unknown ), comprised of 9 individual pieces the mural as seen is 353 cm. / 139" ( height ) and 175.25 cm. / 69" wide assembled. There are a couple of hairline cracks and 2 pieces of metal framing missing but easily repairable, there are no broken lead lines and is all original glass.
The Stained glass is photographed by way of a temp. lighting box as best as possible, historical references provided and additional pics ( close-ups ) are available. Each panel is individually crated for transport, due to the efforts needed to remove and view each panel and the risk of damage to do so, I will reply and invite only those with a genuine interest in the piece as viewing requires space for layout and time to un-crate.
