The 2671 was an Artist Series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for artist Randy Scruggs in 1975. This was also Ibanez’ first attempt at a full vine inlay tree of life fretboard that carried through to the headstock.
The 2671 features a carved ash single-cutaway body with German carve edges and recessed body contour, abalone purfling and cream binding mated to a set-in maple neck with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with binding and mother of pearl vintage vine inlays which are continued on the large scroll headstock (very rare to find unchipped, unbroken or repaired).
Original specs included a pair of Super 70’s hum bucking pickups (currently has “flying finger” embossed Super 80’s) mounted in black pickup rings with individual volume and tone controls and a phase toggle for the neck pickup, a Tune-O-Matic style bridge and fancy scrolled stop tailpiece, speed knobs with pointers and Star Smooth Tuner machine heads. Original yellow-green velour case is included.
I have owned this guitar many years, my original plan was to have it restored but down sizing my collection. As seen in pictures this 50 yr old guitar is an early pre-serial number example with slanted script Ibanez logo in fair players condition, not a closet queen. Has some body nicks and bottom side of binding on bottom of neck was repaired at some point, but is solid and does not affect playability.
Overall condition is reflected in price as these guitars are $4000-$9000 in good to mint condition.
$2600. Please no lowballers, no trades, no shipping, in-person cash or etransfer only.
