I purchased a smaller clavichord a while back, as it's more practical for my needs, so I must sell my magnificent, and exceedingly rare African walnut "un-fretted" clavichord. Custom built by a former harpsichord maker "Kenneth Storey" of Summerland BC. in 1978. A bit of info; The clavichord is an early stringed keyboard instrument popular through the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque periods, and beyond. Unlike the harpsichord, where the strings are plucked, in a clavichord the strings are struck by metal tangents, allowing some velocity dynamics by playing lighter or heavier, like a piano/guitar hybrid. It is in good playable condition and it comes with a tuning tool, as well as the green table shown in the pics (if you want it). This is a rare opportunity for any historical music buff, or anyone who enjoys playing unique instruments, as clavichords are vary seldom offered for sale, and when they are, they are rarely in this part of Canada. Having one built today can cost between $5000 to $18000 or more.
