Building Maintenance Worker
Local non-profit organization is seeking a part-time Building Maintenance Worker to provide services to our housing buildings in Penticton.
The Maintenance Worker supports all maintenance initiatives and preventative maintenance and landscaping on the complex while supporting projects and emergency repairs.
Responsibilities include: conducting routine building and equipment repairs, including plumbing, electrical, irrigation and building fabric (walls, floors, ceilings, doors and roof), landscaping (weeding, grass cutting, trimming, etc.) as required; ensuring clean and organized maintenance work and storage areas; assisting in emergencies at the residence and/or emergency repairs as required. Supporting on-site contractors. If possible responding and attending to building emergencies after business hours.
As an ambassador of The Brain Injury Society, you have exceptional interpersonal skills, the ability to foster and maintain relationships, and model our values in all interactions. The Building Maintenance Worker enjoys working with others and is highly service oriented. You are able to work independently and as a collaborative Team Member. You have highly developed mechanical skills with proven ability to maintain and repair a wide range of appliances, equipment and systems. You are a critical thinker and problem solver, detailed and organized, pro-active, and able to manage your time, workload and conflicting priorities effectively and efficiently.
The ideal person lives in the Penticton area, within a 15 minute drive away or less with their own reliable transportation. Able to supply equivalent work references, and a clean criminal record check.
